Since July, Microsoft Office for Mac is now available to all Office 365 subscribers. We had to wait almost five years for it to be released, but this was worth the wait. Many things improved, one of my favorites is the bright and spacious interface.
The new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote provide the best of both worlds for Mac users—the familiar Office experience paired with the best of Mac.
I really liked that there's a strong focus on collaboration and cloud integration with this new Office version. This makes all Microsoft files available across a range of devices and really achieves a better cross-platform familiarity.
The main purpose with this release is that all versions of Office in Mac and in Windows look and work alike, and also resemble the Office you experience on the Web and on tablets. And, they totally achieved it. At the same time, the new Office 2016 applications can perfectly adapt to OS X with full Retina display support.
And, did you know that Microsoft plans to introduce new updates to the software at least once per quarter going forward? Then, we don't have to wait so long for another update or release.
Microsoft is completely fulfilling its new mantra: Microsoft Everywhere. In few words, the final version of Office 2016 for Mac brings the suite out of the dark ages and into the modern world.
