Office 365, often known as O365, is a Web-based version of Microsoft's Office suite of enterprise-grade productivity applications. Office 365 is delivered to users through the cloud and includes a series of Microsoft Office Web Apps.
But, what is it? Why do people prefer it? and what are the benefits?
These apps are Exchange Online for email, SharePoint Online for collaboration, Lync Online for unified communications, Yammer, Web-based versions of the traditional Microsoft Office suite of applications, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, just to mention some of them.
The results of a recent analysis of 4,000 different cloud applications at 2,500 companies in 185 countries prove that Office 365 is the most widely used cloud application among businesses.
But why do businesses prefer it? And this is a question I really want to answer in this blog post. There are four main reasons of why do businesses are moving to Office 365 and, like Javier Ampacun, I am going to explain them with memes (I’m not copying you Javier, I just think your blog post was great).
With Office 365 you pay what you use. It has a pay-as-you-go mode which offers more flexibility. This basically means your organization is able to turn on or off licensing depending on the number of users that require Microsoft Office.
2. Updates and Maintenance
Getting O365 is like getting an IT department. It takes care of all the dirty work: updates, patches, and upgrades. These just happen in the background without you needing to worry about it.
With O365 all you need is your computer, laptop, tablet, or phone, and an Internet connection or phone coverage to access your enterprise software.
4. Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Microsoft is beefing up the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities in SharePoint Online and OneDrive, helping Office 365 customers prevent potentially costly leaks of sensitive information.
So, Office 365 is THE service that will help you maximize your investment in emerging technologies and improve your competitiveness. O365 is the answer for fast-growing companies, allowing their employees to work anywhere, with anyone, at any time.
